About product

The CORE Pickleball Balls are a must-have for players of all levels. They are designed with performance in mind, featuring heavyweight and 40 precisely drilled holes to improve wind resistance, giving you straight, true, and fast shots every time. Thanks to the rotational molding and state-of-the-art polyurethane, they are ultra-durable and crack-resistant, so you can trust that they will last game after game. The vibrant color of the neon green pickleballs makes them easy to spot in any lighting situation and they won’t break or crack in cold weather and hold their shape in hot weather, unlike other pickleball balls. As a result, you get the perfect bounce every time — controlled enough that you can take control of your power and strike from the paddle, but springy enough to help you aim with confidence toward your target.

Pros

  • Super durable
  • Bright neon for better visibility
  • Weather-resistant
  • Great bounce

I am not a seasoned pickleball player so my review should not carry the same weight as someone who plays all the time.I purchased the core pickleball balls and they came right away. The bag was easy to open. I like the neon yellow color. The coloring makes the balls easy to see on the court. The balls have good bounce and haven't cracked yet. I've pressed them in with my fingers and they don't indent or falter. I've hit the balls around with the paddle and they seem to hold up. The balls have a nice bounce and are, in fact, very speedy in returning. I haven't used other brands, but this particular brand seems to have a solid product and is valid in its claims. I don't have any reason to believe otherwise.

These balls are fast and wind-resistant. I have not used them in the cold where they are said to be more fragile. These are substantially faster than Franklin x-40 and people who use x-40 will hate you for using this ball because they won't be able to handle this ball's speed and they'll also hit it long. After using this ball, x-40 feels like slow motion and if someone insists on using one of those, it will take you a few shots to re-calibrate.I tried two Gearbox GB1 at around 80 degrees and they got soft. They started a little fast but after a total of 3 hours both balls moved like slow x-40's; I've returned the other 10 unused. One guy who plays with us said the GB1 felt like he was hitting a rock. I'm passing on the Selkirk as the reviews don't seem that flattering.Try the Core if you're 4.5 and up (or want to be).

Had never tried this brand before but very impressed. Works great when playing outdoor on street or official courts. Great, true bounce, and plays as expected off of pickleball paddles. Great product and very durable. Played 10s of matches with it and still very little scuffs and wear on the balls!

I've been searching for the best cold weather ball; we play in temperatures between 30-40 degrees Fahrenheit. What makes the best cold weather ball? Balls that can take punishment while cold and pop similar to the X-40 in ideal conditions. The two best balls I've found thus far are the PCKL Elite 40 and the Selkirk Pro S1. These balls can take some serious punishment prior to breaking. The drawback against these two choices are the lack of pop; they're not as poppy as I had hoped. The Core product is certainly poppy however they break easier than the two products mentioned above. This is a solid cold weather ball if you're playing in temps between 40-50 degrees.

Like the feel of the balls. However, when I tried to weigh one of the ball, it shows 25 grams instead of the specified ball weight of 26 grams.Started playing with 2 new balls. Out of the box, these balls were great! They had a great and consistent bounce, nice pop coming off the paddle, and were really fun to play with. Unfortunately, after just a few games of play, it was like the life had been sucked out of them. They still weren't bad balls...you can still play with them...but they just don't feel special anymore.Brand new, these balls are among the hardest that I have tested and using a durometer I found them to be harder than either a Dura Fast 40 or a Selkirk Pro S1...two balls known for being made of hard material. Out of the box (or bag) these balls are also very lively, and from a dead drop, the Core balls had one of the highest bounces of any ball I have tried thus far. These factors alone had me excited about this ball, as it seemed like it might be a great, and less expensive, option for those times when I want to play a faster game. And at first, that theory held up. They played super fast. Serves were quicker. Drives were faster. Hand battles at the net were ridiculous! And then...almost out of nowhere...they just weren't. Over the course of an afternoon we went through three Core balls, and had pretty much the same experience with each. Fun for about a game and a half...and then the life just zaps out of them.None of them cracked. None of them were badly warped. None of them were beat up beyond the point of playability...they just weren't the same balls we started with. For the sake of comparison, when we started these really did feel a lot like playing with a Selkirk ball...which is one of my favorites...but by the end of game 2, their play was much closer to a broken in Franklin. Still not a bad ball...and you can certainly have plenty of fun with a Franklin, but it's just going to be a slightly different game.Ultimately, that's the biggest knock I have on these balls. The break in curve is fast and steep, and when it comes down to it...there are plenty of options for consistently fast balls and plenty of options for consistently slower balls, so I am not sure why I would want to play with one that radically shifts from one to the other.

Buying Guide

Pickleball is super popular right now, which means there’s no shortage of ball options to choose from. This can make shopping a bit daunting, especially if you’re a beginner-level player. Luckily we have a short buyer’s guide that’ll help you find the perfect set of pickleballs for your gameplay. The first decision to make is the material of the pickleball. Pickleballs typically come in indoor, outdoor, and specialty designs. Indoor balls are softer and designed for smoother, controlled play on indoor courts. Outdoor balls, made of durable plastic, are better suited for rougher surfaces. Specialty balls, often with unique designs, cater to the specific needs of more experienced players. Next, think about how many balls you’d like to have. Pickleballs are sold in various quantities, from individual balls to multi-packs. You’ll want to stock up according to your frequency of play and plan for potential losses. Another thing to look at is the brand. It’s important to invest in reputable brands known for quality and consistency. Cheaper options may save you money initially, but they often wear out faster and compromise your game quality. Finally, consider the extra features the pickleballs offer. Pay attention to factors like bounce, weight, and visibility, which can greatly influence your game. Ultimately, selecting the right pickleball is pivotal to your enjoyment of this fast-growing sport. By considering all the features above, you'll be well-equipped to pick the right pickleball set that suits your playing style and environment.
