This is an excellent shower bench, worth every penny!Every homecare nurse and physical therapist has asked where to get one, and they’re sharing the information with their co-workers and associates.Easy to assemble, no tools required! Light weight, yet very sturdy, it has many indispensable features that previous shower chairs just did not have:1. A padded, waterproof seat that rotates in any direction! The seat locks into place every 90 degrees. So it can be used in any bath to face the faucets and drain.2. By pushing a button that unlocks the chair, the seat slides along the bench rails, then locks into position, in and out if the bathtub.3. The chair has flip up locking arms for easy transfer from a wheel chair if required. It also has a seat belt.4. The legs are adjustable at 1/2” increments, for user height (seat max height 23”), and to clear tub top edge to slide over (18”). This also allows the bench to be leveled between the legs inside the tub and the legs outside on the floor.5. There are rubber feet on the bottom of each leg that are angled, so they can be rotated to adjust to the contours of the tub or the flat floor.We only have one small bathroom, a tub with sliding glass doors, and a sink right next to the tub. We were looking into remodeling our bathroom, planning to have the tub removed and converted into a walk in shower. We can safely and easily use this shower chair in our tiny bathroom without a major remodel!To set it up, we removed our sliding shower doors, purchased an inexpensive shower curtain tension rod and a clear plastic shower curtain. We made two small cuts up from the bottom of the shower curtain that match the distance between the outside legs, and the height of the bench rails, so the shower curtain bottom can be tucked inside the tub to minimize water on the floor. We also use a bathmat under the outside legs to avoid a dangerous, slippery, wet floor.We slide the chair out of the tub into the locked position. Rotate the seat into the locked position facing out of the bathtub. Transfer from the walker to the seat by reaching back for the chair arms, carefully lowering down into the seat, and attach the seat belt. Then push down the red lever to rotate the seat 90 degrees, lifting one leg over tub edge. Push grey button to begin sliding the chair into tub, lifting the other leg into tub. Once the seat locks into position, you are ready for a safe shower!Simply reverse the process when you’re done. And light enough to easily remove for other bathers.Very happy with our purchase! Excellent product. Lifesaver for getting my 94 year old Mom into and out of her shower. The swiveling seat makes it easy to get her seated and then simple to slide her on in to shower. This is Nate’s wife writing the review.I purchased this shower chair for my mom so she could bathe after coming home from heart bypass surgery.I assembled the chair in my mom’s house before she came home from the hospital as a surprise for when she returned.Let me say that this shower chair is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! I am a registered nurse and used to work in an assisted living facility. I have seen many types of shower chairs being a nurse but I have never seen anything like this chair before…it is just AMAZING!!!The chair was super easy to assemble and adjust. It is extremely sturdy.I assembled the chair outside of the bathroom at my mom’s house. Once it was assembled, which took less than 15 minutes, I sat in the chair to test it. It was extremely easy to operate. The seat slid back and forth across the rails and rotated effortlessly. The arms can also be raised up and out of the way with a simple click of a single button.I couldn’t wait for my mom to use this chair when she came home from the hospital. I knew it would give her the safety and support she would need while showering while she was recuperating.Then I tried to move the chair into my mom’s bathroom…and that’s when I ran into problems. No problems with the chair…problems with my mom’s bathroom! My mom lives is a row house in Philadelphia and her bathroom is very small (it’s only about 5’ x 6’). I had to disassemble the legs to get the chair into the bathroom and then reassemble the legs. Once the chair was put back together, I put it in the tub and sat on it again to give it a spin. Again, it worked flawlessly! It was easy to sit down on the chair, swivel it 90-degrees and then move my legs into the tub as I slid the chair across the rails over the edge of the tub.I did the whole thing in reverse and it was super easy to get out of the tub too!But then I tried to get out of the bathroom…and the bathroom door wouldn’t open all the way because it hit the legs of the chair that wet outside of the tub. In fact, the door wouldn’t open far enough for me to get out of the bathroom at all. If I couldn’t get out of the bathroom, with the chair in place, there was no way my mom would be able to get into or out of the bathroom with the walker that she would be bringing home from the hospital. I could have turned the chair sideways and put the entire chair into the tub to get into and out of the bathroom, but once my mom was in the bathroom with a walker there was no way that I would have been to get into the bathroom with mom and her walker and have enough room to move the chair out of the tub and back into position across the tub again.I’m so sad that I have to return this chair because my mom’s bathroom is just too small to accommodate the chair.This shower chair really is THE ABSOLUTE BEST SHOWER CHAIR EVER!!If you need a shower chair and have enough room in your bathroom to use it, I highly recommend it…not only as a caring daughter, but also as a registered nurse.

Overall functionally of this transfer bench is good. We have a small bathroom and I was surprised how well it fit on our tub. It was easy and quick to put together and it arrived in a week. The knobs for sliding and swivelling could be a little bigger. The sliding and swivelling motion was smooth. It’s a little pricey but If you can afford this bench it is a good investment. I would highly recommend this transfer bench.

We purchased this bench for my wife who has mobility problems. One appealing feature compared to other models that I tried from a local vendor is its compact dimensions . The unit fits very nicely in a small bathroom. The first time we used it we were impressed by how well the swivel/slide operation works. Although we've only been using it for a short time we're quite pleased with its operation and build quality. We were advised by Amazon that delivery might be delayed, but in the end it actually arrived ahead of schedule.

This is a wonderful transfer chair, safe, and easy to operate. Only comment I have is would be great if they had different sizes (bigger chair area). If you are a bigger person, you hang off a little.

Works very well for son who is wheelchair user with no use of legs. Easy to transfer to and from. Good sizze footprint and very sturdy. Makes life easier.

My parents have mobility challenges with stepping in/out of their bathtub. I researched various products and purchased this Gateway Premium Sliding Bath Transfer Bench since it has a swivel seat that helps my parents sit, turn and lift their legs to step in/out of the tub; minimizing the risk of them tripping and falling. At the time of this review, my parents have used their sliding bath transfer bench for ~3 weeks and really enjoy using this bench. Listed below are their likes and dislike on their sliding bath transfer bench.Likes+ Padded swivel seat for comfort+ Lightweight (easy to move in/out of the tub)+ Very sturdy and stable bench with grab bars for assistance+ Easy to use (sit, turn and lift their legs)+ Blue color seat (helps guide my mom's cognitive impairment)+ Easy to assemble (no tools required and assembly was less than 15 minutes)+ Affordable (as compared to a walk-in tub or lift chair)+ Easy to clean and dry off+ Fits into a standard bathtub (see pictures) and the bench can be adjusted to different heightsDislike- Need to stand up to bathe perineal area. As a suggestion for continuous improvement to the chair, allow a removeable part of the seat to enable washing the perineal area.

Overall this is a game change for my son's ability to shower. No longer do we have to risk lifting or transferring into a seat in the tub. The height is adjustable and can be set to be level with the legs in the tub to the legs outside of the tub. The angled rubber feet can be twisted to be flat and the whole thing is stable. I cut the shower curtain to fit around the rails.Note: the chair was shipped in a box with the two rails already assembled, but they were backwards and the chair didn't lock on the spring pegs. Once I realized the problem, it was easy to disassemble and reverse the rails. It is now working perfectly.

My father recently had a severe stroke resulting in complete paralysis of his right arm and leg. His home has bathtub/shower units so we could not get him in and out of the bath over the edge of the tub without at least two people holding him up and risking a fall which was embarrassing and dangerous for him. We looked into replacing one shower/bath with a walk in tub or shower stall but that would have cost thousands of dollars so I ordered this product hoping it would make bath time easier. Assembly is straightforward and simple and the assembled unit is lightweight and easy to move and position in the tub. The leg height is adjustable to get the right height for the edge of the tub and the rubber feet are adjustable to fit the slope of the bottom edge of the bathtub perfectly to keep it stable and prevent slipping. The ability to swivel the seat in any direction and lock it onto position is especially helpful as Dad can sit down on the seat facing out from his walker to get undressed with help from his wife and then swivel the seat and lift his bad leg over the edge of the tub before sliding the seat into the shower space. The lap belt and grab bar offer an extra sense of security and stability for those with mobility issues. He can now get into the shower with only his wife helping him which is much more dignified for him and safer for both of them as she has a bad back that prevents her from being able to safely lift and support him alone. Dad was thrilled to be able to have a real shower after a few weeks of sponge baths that never really left him feeling completely clean from head to toe and my stepmother is relieved that she can now help him with his bath without assistance. We are all very happy with this product.

 Product is great but my legs of my front of the tub are too short because my tub is built up. I found the chair to be very secure on the inside of the tub but the legs are short, so I secured it to my handy handle in my tub with heavy duty zip ties works great.

I purchased this for my 94 year old mom with failing health and limited mobility. She is confined to her wheelchair but is still able to transfer herself from chair to chair, chair to toilet, chair to bed. She had been using a standard shower chair but transferring into the chair was becoming risky as her upper body strength has declined. This new chair is awesome. Much more sturdy than I had hoped. The ability to make a simple wheelchair-to-shower chair transfer while outside the shower on a dry floor is a God send. The swivel mechanism is sound. Unlike a more expensive chair we considered, the lever to engage the swivel function is located on side of the seat. No need to reach between the legs to reach it. You still have to reach between or under her legs to engage the slide function, but this is easy enough once she is seated. I highly recommend this unit. It's changed her confidence and allowed her to keep her independence while in her own bathroom.

When my husband suddenly got sick and was hospitalized/rehab for a month we had to make some changes when he was home. Our bathroom wasn't handicap equipped and rehab suggested this shower chair. It was a lifesaver at a time we needed it. Easy to assemble and easy to use. Adjustable for any tub.

Just purchased and wanted to make a few initial comments. I will post again once we've lived with it for a while.The product seems very well made. I must admit, my heart sank a little when I opened the box to see it all disassembled. (I'm used to receiving items either fully assembled, or almost assembled, and the number of pieces was overwhelming.) But, with a quick look, and a snap-snap-snap -- all the pieces came together very quickly, and we had it in the shower within an hour of getting it in the door -- and that included getting all the components out of the box and out of the secure wrapping! ; )Initial impressions: very impressed with its solid nature; swivel/transfer seat also appears very sturdy; cushion bottom is great for comfort, and will allow water to pass through. Adjust simply and easily. I am very pleased to have purchased this product, given that many online health and mobility devices are often a "hit or miss". This one is superb for: easy assembly, ease of adjustment, ease of use. Who could ask for more? When one is mobility challenged, one is always looking for something to make things a little easier. This one hit it out of the park!
