I got this bag for a trip to Costa Rica and Panama where I'd be visiting beaches and islands and on tiny boats with lots and lots of splashing.i was able to fit a week's worth of summer clothes in here, so this wasn't my main bag but I took it on short trips with me. I never submerged the bag fully but it definitely sat on the ground on boats that took on a little water and made through many a rain shower without allowing a single drop inside. The bag utself is very comfortable to wear even for long periods of time. Coming home my flight was delayed for 20 hours and I wore this bag as my main carry on for the whole of that ordeal. I was surprised by how comfortable it was. I probably had about 15 pounds of stuff in there.

No worries about water or the elements, this is a very tough backpack. Has multiple straps that tie around and secure to the front torso area, one at lower part of backpack and other at mid-chest level. Needless to say it's going to be very secure no matter where you are. The only reason I took a star off was because the top enclosure is not obvious to close like any other backpack I've ever used. Presumably with someone more intuitive this would not be hard to work out.

We bought this bag for our Caribbean cruise and we could not have been more happy with it. Very easy to access our stuff while keeping everything safe and dry. The bag is extremely comfortable to wear for long days and the waist strap helps with with weight. Overall a 10/10 and highly recommend it!

I used to keep my emergency "go-bag" in a canvas duffle in the front closet, but it was cumbersome, inefficient, and not waterproof. I knew I needed to upgrade my go-bag to something more practical. This dry bag far exceeded my expectations. At first look, it doesn't appear very large, but as you can see in the photo I've uploaded- it holds a lot of stuff. I was able to fit the largest water purifier I own as well as two life-straws and one more portable high-micron water purifier, I also packed a full first aid kit, several fire starting tools, a case of mylar emergency blankets, maps, a large first aid book, a hand/solar powered radio/light device, head lamps, plastic bags, and more. In my old duffel, this amount of emergency items was unwieldy- let alone susceptible to the elements. I still have quite a bit of room in this pack, so I plan on filling it with some emergency food and more first aid items. When I tried the bag on I was really surprised by how extremely comfortable it is. The straps are very well padded, even the waist/belt is padded. In the event of an emergency- I feel confident that I can carry this bag quickly. I did test to see if it was watertight, and it doesn't have a zipper to keep it closed, so it can't be fully submerged, but with the top flap closed and clipped shut the bag does keep water out of the inside of the bag.I love the extra thick and soft rope handle on the top of the bag. Again, switching from my canvas duffle bag to this, it's details like this that really make this bag top notch. The interior of the bag has a waterproof zipper pouch that is built in- this is a great place to store fire starting tools or documents that need to stay dry.If you're looking for a quality dry bag, give this one a try. The size, the craftsmanship and the comfort really can't be beat.

I picked up this pack for kayaking trips, and it is truly perfect for that use. I don't think I would personally take it on extended wilderness hiking trips though. The capacity is impressive for a drybag, and yes, the main compartment is 100% waterproof. I submerged the bag completely in a pool and had no seepage into the main compartment. The exterior pocket had a little bit that appears to have squeezed through the zipper, but I believe if you just treat that part as "water resistant" then you'll be fine. The straps and supports are nice and comfortable, though built for a somewhat smaller person than me. I am 6 foot, 185 pounds with a 34 inch waistline. The shoulder straps sat really high on my shoulders, though they were still comfortable. I don't think the hip belt had a lot left to give, so if you're a larger person then this probably won't work easily for you. It's comfortable to wear for shorter distances, so as a kayaking drybag or a beach bag it's perfect. The materials are all very good quality and all of the stitching looks solid as well. There are hydration tube clips on each shoulder strap, and it came with a carabiner clip so that I can hang ropes or other stuff off of the back! Overall a really great purchase.

I ordered the black bag, but ended up getting the yellow one.. not only am I going to keep it, since it looks so wicked! I’m actually considering getting another one in black, just for diversity.. 😅The capacity on this one is extreme and I really like the attention to details in the additional links and pockets for easy access when you don’t really need to open the whole bag..

Buying Guide

Whether you're going on a multi-day trek through the mountains or just need a reliable bag for your daily commute, a good waterproof backpack can make all the difference. Not only will it keep your belongings dry in wet weather, but it can also protect them from accidental spills or splashes. When choosing the best waterproof backpack for your needs, there are several factors to consider. First and foremost, you'll want to think about the size and capacity of the bag. Consider what you'll be carrying and make sure the backpack has enough space to accommodate everything comfortably. You'll also want to pay attention to the materials used in the backpack's construction. Look for high-quality, waterproof fabrics that are durable and resistant to tears and abrasions. Additionally, features like sealed seams and waterproof zippers can help ensure that water stays out of the backpack's interior. Other factors to consider might include the backpack's design and style, as well as any additional features such as padded shoulder straps or external pockets for easy access to your essentials. Ultimately, the best waterproof backpack for you will depend on your individual needs and preferences. By taking the time to do your research and consider all of these factors, you can find a waterproof backpack that will keep your belongings safe and dry no matter what adventures you embark upon.
